Oh absolutely I will, Ryzen still almost seems too good to be true. Haven't been this excited since the Athlon XP 2500+

edit: Wow! I never bothered to look at my build template view counts....over 23000! I'm speechless

X370, B350 and X300 chipsets can overclock. A320 and A/B 300 chipsets cannot. Just an FYI.

Sarco, I know you mentioned mITX, but what's wrong with the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo?

it's an excellent and affordable solution. I used one to cool my i5-3570K with great results!

otherwise, realistically, just find what you want and then order the AM4 bracket from the manufacturer, who, in my experience, often just mail them out at no charge or just for shipping costs.

So I wonder what availability will be like at launch? If AMD follows the norm with their GPUs... the majority of pre-orders (but not all) will get filled and then there will be a couple of week delay before more comes. In the meantime we will have to read dozens of threads of people complaining they didn't get their stuff.

I'm going to sit on the bench on this one until summer. I was going to wait until next year for my next main rig upgrade but that might move up now. I'm curious to see how Intel reacts - price cuts or new hardware that is better.

ugh...CPU's are released but none of the mobo makers have AM4 solutions up yet. :(

Motherboards would have been mass populated in about December, plus like 5 manufacturers have about 20 motherboard models already per AM4 socket so that's like 100 motherboards to choose from. Why need to preorder at all?

I'd rather wait for reviews, there's a lot of "leaks" considering embargo ends on the 28th (and alleged release on the 2nd).

On the flipside, they're not pulling a 9590 just because it's new. Perhaps in 4-6 months it'll be half the cost when RyZen+ chips come along.

Are there currently any waterblocks available for the Ryzen 7 1800X?

I already have a custom loop (with a water pump, radiator, etc) so I would be looking just for the AMD waterblock.

Yes. EK has a couple mounting plates for their existing blocks already.

Which block do you have specifically?

This one?

That's good.

Points to this backplate:
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-backplate-supremacy

So it looks like your block is compatible if you buy the right backplate.

I haven't done enough research on the motherboards to be able to answer that question.

what about the xspc ones?
http://www.ncix.com/detail/xspc-raystorm-pro-cpu-waterblock-1e-125061.htm
looks identical to this:
http://www.xs-pc.com/waterblocks-cpu/raystorm-pro-amd-am4

I know it probably isn't compatible, but it says pre-order. If I'm pre-ordering something, I'd expect it to be the AM4 one... but it looks like that's an old SKU, and you'll just take my money until I ask for a refund when nothing ships after 6 months (hey, it's happened before!)

side question, where is the reply button for the thread without quoting someone??

It is an old SKU. I don't believe it's the correct one. I'll ask someone to create  a new SKU for the AM4 version on Monday.

There isn't one. but if you're not actively using the quote tags, it doesn't affect anything.
