got a friend that wants 3 monitors and is curious about options that would let him daisy chain them off the 1x DP connection on his GTX 1050 Ti.

the daisy chain function of DP isn't a popular/common feature in most monitors, but mebe one of you all have a familiarity?

He's trying to lose cables. he can do 3 cables ending in a DP connector off the GPU already.

I'm confused...

For chaining you'd need

1 Cable from GPU to Monitor 1
1 Cable from M1 to M2
1 Cable From M2 to M3

How is that less?

sorry, I meant less cable clutter going to a single point. the cables between monitors don't really clutter much as you can purchase the cable length needed.

it all makes sense in my head, really!!!

https://www.displayport.org/cables/driving-multiple-displays-from-a-single-displayport-output/ Note the resolution limits when daisy chaining.

Dell has a number of monitors that have a DP out for daisy chaining.

Presumably the box Greg listed can be near the monitors with a single extension cable running to the GPU.

nearness isn't an issue. just dropping cable clutter and connectivity complexity.

resolution isn't an issue either, as they're only looking for 1920 x 1080.
