So I am a noob when it comes to this bitcoin thing. I've mined my first small amount with Nicehash using their wallet over the past week (0.001 coins worth close to $30USD) and I want to cash out to see how the process works. I'm a bit worried about security and sending some financial information to sketchy websites. Is it possible to send payments to Paypal - is that any safer? Any advice on how to safely proceed?

maybe I can help.

I would suggest using Quadriga. It is a Canadian exchange. There you can easily trade your BTC for CAD and make a withdrawl to your bank or paypal.

So I tried to transfer to Paypal account in Quadriga and it says "Temporary Unavailable".

I'm not sure if I want to input any banking information with them. I might get a rechargable/disposable credit card instead for exclusive use of this service.

That's not inspiring.
I might be a bit late to the post. I recommend selling it on localbitcoin due to tax purpose :P

A number of folks over at HWC use Quadriga. End of last week I withdrew a reasonable sum of CAD using the direct transfer to my financial institution. It should show up in my account in a day or two.

I swap them out at coincards for gift cards and yes you can get ncix gift cards too, there's a %5 service fee.

However coincards is shutting down for a week during the "Aug 1st decision".

I ended up getting a credit card for Bitcoin use exclusively and did transfer over about $65. However it seems that Quadriga has removed that option as well as removing Paypal. I'm not comfortable in giving bank account information for EFT or wire transfers to Quadriga. So it looks like e-Transfer might be the best option since it is done via email and I don't believe account information is given in that instance. The fee is 2% +$5 though. Might have to look for some other options for withdrawl - maybe that ATM option might have reasonable service fees. I'm just banking it right now though so no rush.

Another option is to not sell it. I bought $50 of BTC a couple of years ago, it was .085 BTC, traded it to syscoin and back again and then it was .23 BTC, which is now worth over $1200. I also learned fancy terms like HODL! and MOON!
