So I see the price of the i5 7500 has gone up since 6 months ago by about $10. I am wondering what type of customer is still buying this CPU given Ryzen has been so popular with content creators. At this price point, who is still choosing the i5 7500? Lost of people? Some people?

Only dumb people who do not know any better or people who hates AMD.
Ryzen 5 1600 is best price and by far better cpu to i5 7500

No need for name calling those who may not be as up to date as techies. The 1600 out performs the i5 7500 but it also costs more right? Wouldn't the benefit of Ryzen be to get the 1500 as that performs the same as the 7500 and is lower cost?

Not calling you dumb, just people in general I've dealt with the same situation.
i5 7500 is $260, 1600 is $280 and 1500x is $250

The $20 more to get 1600 over the 7500 is well worth the price.

the AMD 1600X is considered to be the sweet spot for CPU's right now.

1600x at $310 is a good price for what you are getting.

Around a year or two during a Christmas sale, i got the i7 6700k for around $350. I mostly buy the more expensive components during a sale. If i want to upgrade my CPU now, that would mean i need a new mobo and a CPU, so it's probably better to wait for a sale and replace them both, but the 6700k doesn't look like it'll need a upgrade for a while.
