I've spammed my wallet to all my emails and cloud storage so that I have access to it everywhere.

don't worry, the file with the info is in a password protected zip file.

Oh man that's rough, sorry to hear

I'll be paying more attention when accessing my wallet.

I have a question...

In a 6 or 8 gpu setup, can you run different gtx cards? or do they have to be the same?

I did that, stored the wallet.dat with pass phrase in a zip. That zip corrupted immediately thereafter.

No dig at you at all

Why would people put so much into something that can vanish because you forgot a password? Its insane.

Its like putting 10,000$ on a paper gift card, and accidentally putting it through the washing machine.

Where should crypto currencies be stored? At an Exchange? In a paper wallet? In a pool account? IMO there is nothing wrong with a software wallet so long as you take the necessary precautions not to lose the passphrase. Too bad I did not. At the time I was grass green and had to learn the hard way I guess.

Hey Coach, Im sorry you lost that account and money.

I just figured a real company with some form of proper security would be involved.

It is really too bad.

Hey no problem, it may have sounded like it but I really was not bothered by your post. However I do think it's likely you do not know how a personal wallet works. It is utterly and completely up to the owner of the wallet to manage it. There is no one to contact when you lose the PP.

Indeed, I have lost far more through "exchanges" getting hacked and/or closing their doors then I care to admit. I keep things local as much as possible.

BTC-E just got taken down too. Apparently the owner may have been part of the Mt. Gox hack.

The money isn't really in mining. It never was... Buy bitcoins low and wait to cash out.

What are 1080ti's making now on nicehash? 2.25 USD/day? Pathetic lol... I remember it was at $10 a couple months ago.

More or less agree with adz124 considering how badly the mBTC payout has drop ped over the last month and a half, over a month ago I got 3-3.5 mBTC but at present 1.22-1.26mBTC per day is about it even though BTC value is up $3300usd ish you only get 1.22mBTC ish per day while running an Rx 580/GTX 1060 6GB/R9 280x.

Ps, I see my payout drop  to 1.teens mBTC at times and can't even make the 10mBTC quota/per week to get a weekly payout anymore.

:(

So when BTC forked and BCC was created out of thin air and all these people now with BTC now also had as much BCC as BTC. Then they go trade their BCC for BTC and the market made a large move up... that sounds about right no?

Just in time to sell off a coin for Vega! Free GPU? I think so.

Bitcoin is now $6000CDN. Up 50% in August. Is it a bubble or will it keep escalating?

I'm only at 3.3%.I've got about 3 more months before my 1080Ti is paid off. It will be used in my Threadripper build later this winter.

I did cash in $65 when it was around $4500. I just wanted to make sure the process I wanted to use worked.

Well, I'm going to ride this for a little while longer. I bought some bitcoins a while back when it was trading at 1.8K USD in May. Volatility can be a good thing provided you understand market trends/patterns and leave emotions out the door. I just wish I had bought BTC at $750 (USD) during the new year.

And as always - diversity is the key to success with trading. Work smart, not hard...

That H110 Pro BTC+ looks really interesting and the price is good. What hardware are you running on it for CPU, PSU, storage and memory? I'd like to be able to run mixed cards.

Do you need a rig specifically dedicated to this or can I use my gaming rig when I'm not using it; such as at work, away or asleep? I have a 1060 gtx.

hey Gazoo, I've got three CPU's I can use...one G4400 and then two G4620's. I had to get the G4400 as the BIOS; on my H170 Pro Gaming mobo's weren't running the latest Kaby Lake CPU's.

that said...I will have the following:
Pentium G4620
8GB DDR4 2133mhz RAM
120GB ADATA SU800 M.2 SSD
8x GTX 1070 (4x MSI Nano, 4x PNY Blower)
2x EVGA 850w G3 PSU w/Add2PSU jumper
Win 10 Pro 64bit

I have to get a bunch of riser cables tough. dumb me.

know this, if you run Windows, it has a limitation of allowing a maximum of 8 GPU's by one chipset manufacturer (nVidia or AMD) so you would have to mix/match to run the max of 13 GPU's. if AMD GPU's come available again, I probably will expand the BTC+ to full 13 cards. right now I'm just trying to clean up the mess I have across the two mobo's etc.

if you're interested, I have the two H170 Pro Gaming boards...each can take 6 GPU's.

A pretty big price correction occurred this week. aka the Bitcoin value tanked. I lost about the third of the value I had in there at the peak. However, I soldier on! I got my first electricity bill since I started mining and it is 38% increase over the same period last year. However, it has been warm and I have been running my A/C a lot more too. I'm not mining very efficiently since I am using two full rigs to mine one card each right now. Looking to consolidate 3 cards (one AMD and two NVidia) onto one rig using that motherboard that Mr Friendly mentioned. I'll probably spec that out this weekend. Tonight I am putting together my new Arozzi gaming chair - hope it last longer than my last chair did which was about 2.5 years.
