That style is what I used in the past (from the bay not sure specs). Work great, seem much more resilient then the cap and molex connector hand soldered onto a ribbon type.

Do you build them yourself? Or buy them? I'm not really handy.

I got mine from fleabay years ago, you can find the ones friendly mentioned there as well. Not sure if there is anything local where can get them quickly though.

My OCD would go crazy.

Glad you got the farm running and that rates have gone up a bit recently. I think if you are in it for the long-haul and weather the price cycles you should have it paid off in a few months for sure.

yes...I'm in for the long haul.

currently working on finding financing and location to setup a 100 GPU farm...just not sure what I'd go with. 1070's, 1080's or 1080 Ti's. likely Ti's as they do about 2x the production for less than 2x the price of a 1070.

anyone know of reasonable rent for warehousing or office with good power in Vancouver?

You'd be better with colocation, energy and hiccups wise

I would think Volta would be Great for mining. Are you concerned about investing in Pascal with Volta not that far off?

Mr. Friendly,

Colocation is sharing server rack space in a data center. It provides you with all space and redudency needed to be up 24/7 and you have access to your gear anytime. ACI, iweb, etc. More efficient than to rent a local and fill it up with insurance and everything related.

not overly...however, being Pascal has shortage issues, even into the 1080 Ti now, I might have to wait for Volta to scale.

the longer I wait, the more I lose.

Will be interesting to see how the mini Vega scales as well (Vega XL), but yeah card shortages are an issue if trying to put something together. If your looking at dropping that kind of cash maybe think about going directly to a supplier.

For a comparison to friendly's setup. My Dual 1080Ti's with my cooling solution. Perhaps have to combine forces with friendly.

I'm running windows 10. Having a few issues with nicehash shutting down. Is it better to run Ubuntu?

which app are you running? v1 or v2?

I had nothing but issues with v2 so went back to v1 and it's smooth as butter.

I dropped below the 1USD per day with my 1060, (0.0004 BTC)

I don't think it would worth it, even in the longhaul.

There's an old saying for investing your money: buy into something when it's on page A12 of the newspaper, not when it's on the front page.

I'm at $1.45USD (0.0008 BTC) with my single 980ti. Since I usually leave my computer on all the time, I'll keep at it.

No problem running that version ^ 4 days solid I haven't done a reboot, Rx580/1060ti/280x.

But AMD wattman was a different story it would run fine all day for 18+ hrs then sometime in the night wattman would crash the pc.

Let me tell you how I screwed up and lost $160

I'm so stupid...I go to log in and check my balance, for some reason I didn't use my bookmark and did a search instead, I clicked on the site address, logged in, checked and logged out. It turns out I clicked on a fake link to a .xyz site and my balance was wiped out.

2.5 months of hardwork wiped out with a click of the wrong link

dang

Sorry to hear that. I'd be bummed too!

I got an Artimis virus when I tried downloading NiceHash from a fake site. Luckily it was quarantined by McAfee and subsequent scans with other anti-virus and malware detectors found nothing. So clicking on the wrong link happens - don't be too hard on yourself. I'm using a password vault app which can help against clicking on incorrect links.

And, thanks for posting what happened. Now we can all be more vigilant when we go to do the same thing.
