going to an event next weekend that's broadcast  in FM and I'd like to record the sessions. I have a lil FM radio to do this, but don't know if the G5 can take an incoming audio signal over it's 3.5mm stereo jack, or what program I should use if it can.

anybody here know?

thanks!

Do they have a website with some webradio player?

no webradio...only over the FM band.

I usually used my lil radio to just listen in and block out excess noise around me, but now I wonder what I can do to record it with my phone.

How about this app that is supposed to allow your phone to receive FM signals?

NextRadio requires an active FM receiver chip installed in the phone to receive local FM radio broadcasts, so it's most likely that your device does not have this chip activated and available for use

Maybe that model is physically disconnected?

FM Radio line out to the above Mic in. Done

You could, depending on the recording app, listen to the broadcast  from the phone as well, via the audio out.

According to that link you can use the red jack of a 3.5mm to three RCA socket adapter as a line in, just don't expect cd quality sound.

I don't think cell phone earbuds have changed any in the last 5 years have they? It's based on the fact that the 3 contacts of earbud mini plugs breaks down into L/R and mic.

The contacts haven't changed any, and cell phones still support ear buds w/ mic.

I'm not speaking of the physical connection persay as what Android may or may not allow with the hardware.

I believe I have one of those splitters, so I will test it out in a short bit.
