I guess I'm out of the loop. What happened to the aspm system or what led to it being removed/stopped?

I stopped buying from NCIX once ASPM became limited to 1 request per day. Has it gotten worse now?

To NCIX: this is a hint!

The "Reason: Below cost" button is worn out and needs to be replaced.

The ASPM system had just become a farce. I've tried to pricematch competitors' daily deals and had to wait 3-4 days for the ASPM email even though it said it would take 1 business hour. They would just wait for the competitor's deal to expire so they don't have to honor it.

Main lesson here is, if you see a better price somewhere else, buy it, don't wait. Don't let that "oh, I will buy from my local NCIX" thought cross your mind anymore.

I just did an online order of a Noctua fan using online pricematching, but yes ASPM appears to be gone

Is this a sign of things to come?

Nope, with ASPM you at least were able to know for sure the pricematch request is approved.
With in store pricematching there is always 50% chance your request will be denied and you will only have your time wasted.

I've actually had a ASPM denied in store, in the past. Would love to know why it was removed

Tried to price-match at the Coquitlam location this weekend and was denied. This is hilarious really. If you aren't going to price-match, just get rid of it entirely then. Not really sure what happened, but these shady practices have become way more common here now. Random price increases over the course of one-day even though they say prices are based on what they payed for the products. Wonder if the Better Business Bureau should take a look at this.

BBB really. Sounds like a whiner here.
NCIX has every right to decline any PM for any reason. If the PM is item is not in stock, limited sale price, not in same country or just too below price.
Prices can change 100 times in a day, as they see fit to do so.

Shady business, unlikely. You being shady of course.

Ah, i guess there is no cause for any kind of concern then. Don't worry everyone.

I'm just a shady whiner.

Thanks kid-o.

Well VinNy, while you may not like it, KS-SK has it right, i.e. NCIX is in business TO MAKE MONEY, and they have every right to change their prices as they see fit. Hell, if they wanted to, they could add $1000 to each & every item they sell, and the BBB has ZERO to say about it. Of course they'd no longer have any customers, and they'd be out of business, but THEY pay for the products, and THEY are the ones that determine what prices they'll sell those products for.

NCIX is a privately owned, for-profit business. They can raise and lower prices as they see fit. They add whatever margin to their SKUs as they see fit.
