My PSU is 650 watt with 2 6 pin PCI-E connectors. Can I run this card with this PSU if I get a 6 to 8 pin adapter? Or do I need to buy a new PSU as well?

A bit surprised a 650W psu is lacking an 8 pin, do you know what model just out of curiosity?

It definitely should work, although in a perfect world I would prefer no adapter.

It is an Ultra LSP 650. The specs are http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/ULT-LSP650_Manual.pdf.

You will need a new PSU. That one is just so bad.
It is not even 650w. Barely can do 450w.

Surprised your system did have any damage to it.
Just cause it says 650w on box, dont mean it is.
12V rail is most important which Ultra is 452w. Yes that bad.

Thanks, will buy a new one then. Is 550W actually enough for most new video cards? This one has min 500 and i see some of the new AMD cards asking for 650 or 700. Thanks!

That is total system power, not GPU.
Won't even comes close to 550w under extreme load.

Just saying, but even a 450W is enough.

My system only draws 310W at peak, and thats with a OC'd 1070 and an OC'd 6660k.
